Coding Technical System Design
There were 4 rounds total. Round 1 involved 3 LeetCode questions (1 easy, 2 medium) within 1 hour or 1 hour 20 mins. Round 2 was a video interview focusing on system design in Java, with some testing of logic that was fairly easy. Round 3 was another video interview with someone named Raj, which was enjoyable. This round looked closely at system design and how the tech stack is used, it was the best interview round. Round 4 was another system design interview. The interviewer was late. The first 10-15 minutes were spent discussing my experience, then I was given some questions, and I shared my screen to write code in an IDE.

Started with a recruiter call to set up a technical phone interview. This technical call involved quick questions on core Java OOP and some advanced Java concepts. Next, there was a coding challenge where I had to build a Java web service, which took about two days. The final round was an online video call with screen sharing. Two interviewers asked me to review my code, make changes, and explain my work thoroughly. It's important to be confident and explain things in detail to show you did the work yourself. If you got help online, it's best to mention it. Egen has interesting in-house projects, and if they like your interview performance, they might offer you a role on one of those. Otherwise, they might offer a consultant position after all the rounds.

The first round was a phone call that focused only on theory. It felt like you could pass just by memorizing stuff, which I wasn't a big fan of. They mentioned a coding test for the second round and coding-based questions for the third. Honestly, they should just do the coding test from the start instead of asking theoretical questions like 'what's the difference between this and that?'. It seems like they're more interested in people who can just memorize and repeat things like a parrot.
