A recruiter from Egen contacted me about a Data Engineer role. They wanted me to complete an initial screening test quickly, mentioning an interview could be scheduled for the following week. I took the test in July. Although I qualified, the recruiter went silent for about a month and a half. I had to reach out daily in September to get an interview slot. The interview itself went well, and they indicated an offer would follow, but it's been two months with no updates. My advice to OPT/STEM OPT candidates is to avoid this company as they seem to disrespect candidates' time and keep applicants on hold unnecessarily. Many other companies are more professional and communicative.

The first step was a phone screening. After that, I had an onsite interview with the lead engineer. He gave me some scenarios and asked how I would build infrastructure with certain resources. The final round was a conversation with the CEO.

Had two calls with recruiters, who seemed more focused on trying to get me to accept lower compensation than anything else. Then, two technical interviews followed, involving SQL and Python coding questions. The interviewers were pretty nice and treated the coding tasks more like a discussion, offering hints when needed. After these, I heard nothing back, despite multiple attempts to contact them. They totally ghosted me.
