The interview process involved an aptitude test first, followed by a functional test, and concluded with a face-to-face interview with the hiring manager and CEO. Unfortunately, my face-to-face interview experience wasn't great. The hiring manager seemed rude and stopped asking questions after a brief look at my resume. He seemed disappointed after just 5 minutes, which really affected my confidence, and I struggled with the next question. It's frustrating because I invested significant time in the first test, the functional test, and the interview. It's quite draining when you don't feel taken seriously. I hope this gives some insight for preparation.

I had an aptitude test, then a write-up, followed by another write-up. They had an interview scheduled after the first write-up, but then they canceled it and made me do another write-up. They gave me very little time for the second write-up and no warning that I was going to have to do it. It felt very unprofessional.

It was a really thorough 3 round interview process. The interviewer took the time to get to know me and let me explain how I could contribute. I met with a Manager, Senior Manager, VP, and HR. This really helped me face and answer all sorts of questions, both technical and non-technical, and understand what the company was looking for.

eGain's hiring process is a bit unusual. After applying, the first step is to take an aptitude test and answer some job-specific questions. The aptitude test is standard, with numerical, verbal, and abstract reasoning sections (15 questions each). The questionnaire was a bit strange, asking for 5 responses, each under 250 words. This takes a good chunk of time, which feels like a lot to ask without any prior human interaction about the role, just email exchanges with the recruiter. I get using this for simpler jobs, but for a leadership position? The biggest letdown was how the process was managed. It took 6 days after I applied for the recruiter to send the test links. I did the aptitude test in one day and got good feedback, and the questionnaire was sent the next day. Then, 5 days later, I got an email saying they'd interviewed candidates the previous week and hired someone else. So much of my time wasted!
