I got a call back pretty fast after sending my resume, like 36 hours. They asked me a few basic things and then invited me for an interview. I got an email with details on where to go, what to bring, and some company info. I checked out the links and was impressed by how they focus on staff events and volunteer stuff, helping people grow. My first interview was short. Tyson asked typical questions. I told him what I knew about Effectus from my research and was honest about what they're looking for and where they're at. Since they only promote from within, all roles are entry-level, which is fine for my career change. Their success comes from marketing new products. They get contracts from big corporations for their events. I saw some past and current clients, which gave me a good idea of the job. A few days later, I had a second interview where I job shadowed an event. This was awesome because it showed me exactly what I'd be doing. I chatted with staff and supervisors who explained the event structure. It was fun to watch them and they seemed to enjoy their jobs. They went over the pay structure in detail, and I asked a lot of questions. I'm waiting to see if I qualify for a final interview. Based on what I've seen, I'd love to get started here and see what I can do with this event marketing company.

I sent in my application online and a few days later, an HR rep got in touch. They asked me a few easy questions and then set up an interview for the very next day. The interview itself was pretty simple, mainly because I had done my homework and knew what to ask. Tyson addressed all the questions I had about the job and gave me a solid understanding of what I'd potentially be doing. It's absolutely not true that Effectus is a multi-level marketing company! That person clearly didn't ask the right questions or had some pre-existing ideas about marketing. All in all, the process felt very straightforward and not at all misleading like some people have said. Effectus promotes from within, so starting at an entry-level position makes sense. If candidates do their research and ask smart questions, they should leave with a clear picture of the role if they get an offer.

They have 3 rounds of interviews. The first round is a basic preliminary background meet and greet where they look at your resume and see how you are as a person. If you make it to the second interview, you meet a leadership manager at a grocery store. They will teach you how to give a sales pitch to customers and show you how it's done in the store. After that, you email a list of 3 attributes that make you a better candidate for the job. The owner looks over the emails and will invite you to the third interview if they think you're the one.

My hiring process was super fast and easy. It was very direct and just what I wanted. I showed up looking sharp, did my homework on the company, and came prepared to show why I was a good fit for the job. I got to chat with the CEO, which was awesome and really made an impression. Honestly, it was the best job interview I've had!
