An edX recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn and we set up a screening call. Following that, I was given a technical assessment relevant to the course I was applying for. After passing the assessment, I was put on a waitlist for upcoming bootcamps, and after a few months, I received an offer.

I was contacted via LinkedIn by a sourcing specialist from edX about a full stack web development instructor position with the University of Sydney. The first interview was to discuss the role and my background, and included some behavioral questions about teaching. After that, I had an online assessment with multiple-choice and coding questions covering HTML, CSS, Javascript, Nodejs, SQL, React, and MongoDB. I passed the assessment and moved to the final interview, which was a role-play where I had to teach a student. I followed up with the recruiter about five days after the final interview and received positive feedback the next day, indicating I did well and passed. However, the recruiter mentioned that the instructor position isn't currently available but they would reach out when it is. I saw the job ad on edX's career page is still active for bootcamps with Australian universities, so I'm unsure if all positions are filled or if they are still interviewing.

There were multiple interview rounds with different people from the company, like the recruiter, managers, and people you'd be working with. The recruiter kept me in the loop about how things were going and what the next steps were. They'd email a day or two after each interview. The recruiter also explained who would be interviewing me and their role, and gave some helpful tips. It felt professional and impartial. Sometimes I felt confident, other times I wasn't sure, but that's normal since they're comparing multiple candidates. You'll always get a response, even if it's a no.
