First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Edward-Elmhurst Health.
Recruiter
It was a 3 step process. First, there was an initial phone interview that lasted about 30 minutes. Then, a group video interview with 4 managers, which took about 45 minutes. Finally, there was an in person interview that lasted about an hour.
- Can you tell me about the recruiting software you have used?
- Describe some of the challenges you have encountered in recruiting.
- How do you approach a new requisition?
Patient Care Technician
I applied online and heard back pretty quick with an email the next day to set up a phone interview. The phone interview happened about a week later. After that, they sent me a link to a website where I had to put in 5 references. Then about a week after that, I went in for an in-person interview.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
- What do you consider your weaknesses?
Billing Specialist
HR called to talk about the job and asked some stuff. I got an offer a week or two later. They said the pay was firm and depended on experience, but others with similar experience got paid more. The HR person was kinda pushy when I asked questions, almost rude. I wouldn't recommend it. If HR is like that, I wonder what the company culture is like.
- Can you tell me about your billing experience?
- What salary are you looking for?
Nurse
I went through the interview process for the Nurse Residency Program. The first round involved talking with two staff members, one of whom had completed the residency. They asked a mix of behavioral questions and questions about my personal experiences. I was offered a second interview within three business days. I recently finished that second interview. It started with a chat with the talent coordinator where we discussed my availability to start the program on time, any planned vacations, and salary expectations. After that, I met with a three-person panel for more behavioral questions. The overall experience was really positive, and I'm very excited about this opportunity. I received an offer for the program four business days later.
- Can you tell me about a situation where you observed someone not following protocol and describe your actions?
- What are your salary expectations?
- Would you be able to begin the program at the scheduled start date?
