Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at EDP Renewables.
Associate Director
It was a pretty straightforward process. Initially, I spoke with the Director and then some folks from other teams as a follow-up. The final interview was with the VP of Dev. Most of the discussion revolved around the job description and how my resume fit. Met some great people who are doing good work.
- What are your thoughts on this position?
- Given that some of the work involves X and Y (specific tasks mentioned), are you comfortable with those responsibilities?
- What aspects of this role spark your interest?
Associate
Got approached on LinkedIn, and a call was set up a few weeks later. They reviewed my CV and asked questions about how I'd fit the position. We talked about my technical skills and people management abilities. I got to ask questions too, to understand expectations and what a typical day would be like.
- Can you explain this turbine schematic?
- Describe how you handle rejection.
- Can you give examples of your autonomy and proactive attitude at work?
Summer Associate
I applied online and then interviewed with four people, one of whom was a senior manager. I didn't feel like I was well-prepared for the interview because the job description didn't really align with the questions they asked.
- Have you used GIS software?
- Have you worked on a farm?
- How do you like to communicate with people?
