Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Edmund Optics.
Engineer
The whole process took about three months and had three rounds in total. HR kept me updated during this time. It was a bit long, but overall a nice experience. Everyone was friendly and the job was as described.
- Behavioral based interview questions, and some questions about optics but not too many.
Engineer
The interview process was smooth and easy. They didn't ask too many technical questions, focusing more on past experiences. It felt more like a discussion than a formal Q&A. They inquired about Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Can you tell me about your experience in Optical manufacturing?
Engineer
The HR person was totally unprepared and unprofessional, with an 'almighty' tone. They tried to negotiate for a lower salary even though the job ad listed a high range. The hiring manager seemed more interested in getting free ideas than hiring, asking me to prepare a full PowerPoint presentation with concepts for ongoing projects for the 4th interview. It felt like a total waste of time.
- Can you tell me more about yourself?
- What are your thoughts on the production line?
- What improvements do you suggest for the production line?
