Technology Analyst
It was a written test, then a technical round with the manager, and finally an HR round. The written test covered SQL and performance optimisation and tuning, with not more than 10 questions. The technical round was a 1-on-1 with the manager, covering basic SQL concepts and Core Java questions. They were more interested in methodology and questions based on real-time scenarios, expecting to know the process followed in my current organization. The HR round had basic HR questions and asked about my reason for changing jobs.
- Can you tell us more about your methodology?
- What are your thoughts on SQL?
- How do you approach performance optimization and tuning?
Technology Analyst
So, the interview had 4 rounds in total, with 1 coding round and 2 tech rounds, plus an HR round. Everything except the coding part was on the same day. First up was a HackerRank coding challenge with two medium-level problems. One was about finding the minimum power 'p' for m^p = n. The other was a bit trickier, but I can't recall it precisely. The second round involved discussing my past projects. I had to code the Fibonacci series and the first coding problem again. They grilled me on MySQL table design, asking me to create a data model for an app with user-specific access, and then update it with new requirements. They seemed focused on my approach and comfort with coding and data design. There were also some 'MR' questions. The third round was another Tech + MR session covering core Java, MySQL, Spring, and Restful APIs, though the questions weren't too hard. More 'MR' questions at the end. The final round was all about salary negotiation and a quick rundown of the company, my role, and designation. The kicker: they offered a 40% hike in the HR round, but the official offer, which came after 4 weeks, was less than a 20% hike. Super unprofessional regarding salary promises.
- Can you explain the core Java, JSP, Spring, and MySQL concepts?
- Ensure you are confident about the technologies listed on your resume.
Technology Analyst
First I had a 1 hour aptitude test that had mostly logical questions. Then I had an interview about the technology I've worked on and the domain. Since I have experience in Finacle, they asked questions about the banking domain.
- Were there logical questions as part of the aptitude test?
- Questions on technology worked on
- Questions on domain
