It was a half-hour structured interview. The vibe was chill and respectful. It was just me and my potential department head at first. My team lead joined later. The interview process was an assessment center that took place over one workday. It included various tasks and interviews to assess candidates. We had lunch together in the cafeteria, and there was also an individual presentation. There were enough breaks between the tasks. The day involved group tasks as well as individual tasks like interviews and solving puzzles.
- What was EDEKA's name at its founding, and what does the abbreviation EdK stand for?
Department Head
The interview focused heavily on the candidate's 'weaknesses' to justify a lower salary. Previous knowledge and experience were not explored. They offered additional vocational training which, in the end, only justified a very small pay increase. From my perspective, this is not a good employer, though experiences may vary between different Edeka locations.
