I had to travel back and forth to this company for an interview, and the whole experience was not great. The interview process itself was not professional and I felt like they didn't care. What was even more annoying is that I made a big effort to go there, and at the end of the interview, they didn't tell me what happens next. They didn't communicate with me after the interview, which made the whole experience bad and made me question if they are good at their job and respect people applying.

I interviewed for an audit associate role at Ecovis Singapore. The director emphasized they hire based on technical background and fluent spoken English, as auditors report directly to managers/partners and prepare reports. She asked about my ability to work independently, noting some cases require it. She described the interview as a sales process and asked what I could contribute beyond gaining experience. She also gave feedback on my nervousness, suggesting it might make me unsuitable for the stressful, deadline-driven audit environment, and advised calmness.

There is much debate by industry professionals on the best ways to improve the interview process. And by improve, we mean attract and make better hires. One theory is that harder job interviews actually lead to better job matches - but is this true? It turns out, yes.
