Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ecolab.
Sales Trainee
The company opens a national selection process, deciding that one of the stages will be in person. However, they offer no assistance to those living outside the state. It's nice to have 'equity' in the culture, but in practice, they use financial barriers as part of the candidate elimination process. Another bizarre observation was that the salary wasn't presented, meaning you can't even make an educated guess based on salary; you have to go in blind. Regarding the dynamic process, I thought it was okay, with a personal presentation in English, a case study in English, and a group presentation of the case study in English. A positive point is that they provided feedback.
- Give me a 2-minute pitch about yourself.
Sales
The interview process was very long and complicated with repetitive questions. The job description was unclear and there were confused ideas about the territory to be managed, which was initially identified as a single region and then became half of Italy. They don't state the level or salary but want to know the candidate's CUD.
- They kept asking endless questions about personality, family, and previous employment.
Sales Leader
Ecolab will give you a call to set up a meeting with the HR manager, and you'll have a discussion at a specific time and place, typically at their office. Once you're in the office, the HR manager will chat with you about your background, skills, and what you're looking for. If everything looks good, they'll let you know within a few days.

- How long have you held your current role?
