Account Manager
The interview process involved 3 stages: an initial call with HR, followed by meetings with the Brazil Division Manager and then the Brazil Division Director. All interviews were conducted remotely and the hiring process was quite swift. The interviews were well-managed and straightforward.
- What are your future perspectives for the next few years?
Account Manager
First I talked to a recruiter, then I had a phone interview with the hiring manager. It took about 45 days to set up the on-site interview. The on-site interview also went well. They liked my manufacturing experience and my confidence and ability to learn, even though I had limited sales experience. I declined the offer because they changed the job title to District Sales Rep on the offer letter without telling me, which felt like a bait-and-switch. They said my experience didn't fit the original role, so they offered a lower position with a plan to get me to the original role in 2 years. I would have been okay if they just dropped the "Senior" from the title, but the big change was unexpected. This wasn't discussed before the offer, so I declined. I also wasn't happy with the high cost of health insurance, which seemed too expensive for a large, successful, growing company.
- Could you tell me about your past work experiences as listed on your resume and what skills or knowledge you gained from each?
Account Manager
My headhunter, Bradley-Morris INC., set up an interview for me with Nalco chemical for an account manager role in their water division, covering the Greater Hartford, CT area. The interview was about 45 minutes in a hotel suite in Providence, RI. It was a one-on-one with the area manager and felt pretty conversational. I was a bit unsure about their interest level, the job specifics, and what to expect next, but by the end of the day, they said they wanted to move forward. The next step is a day-long job shadow with a current account manager, which is meant to help me decide if I want the job and them decide if I'm a good fit. A week later, my rep told me they're sorting out details and I should hear more in the next week. That's where I'm at now.
- Which sibling are you closest to and what would they say are your best and worst qualities?
