The interview was chill and the manager was nice. They asked me about my past retail jobs, how I've handled tough customers, and if I'm a team player. No questions about the company or why I wanted to work there. Lots of questions about my time at the two chain stores, but nothing about my keyholder role at the small business. The manager said I'd hear back by the end of the day, no matter what, but Earthbound Trading never called.

The interview was pretty laid-back and friendly. Interestingly, the Assistant Manager seemed surprised I was there and didn't even know about the job fair, which is wild because HR in Texas set up SIX interviews without telling management. Despite that hiccup, the interview went great! Unfortunately, they were overstaffed and could only offer me a seasonal position in about 6 weeks. I'm not mad at the AM or HR, but it's frustrating that there was such a communication breakdown among the higher-ups. I've seen similar complaints in reviews. They really need to sort that out. Even with the miscommunication, the HR person was nice and understanding with the AM.

It was a one on one interview where they asked interpersonal and fun questions. For example, they asked what spirit animal I would be and suggested that creative answers highlighting my employee qualities are best. They gave an example of an owl because owls are wise and I could relate it to my friend group where I was the wise one helping with decisions, taking everyone's opinion into consideration. Owls can see their surroundings from different angles and take in what's happening, which relates to how I like to take in my retail environment and make sure everyone is taken care of.
