I applied and then right away got this cognitive test and personality assessment to do. After I sent those in, about a week later I got an invite for a phone screen with a recruiter. The next step after that was interviews with 2 managers and then a live case interview with someone else on the team. I got an offer about 2 weeks after that and took it.

I applied online and got contacted by HR within a week. The first round was a phone screen with typical resume review and logistics questions. About two weeks later, another HR person called and invited me to the next stage. This involved a 90-minute writing test and a phone case interview with a consultant. A week after that, I came in for in-person interviews. These included two case interviews with three consultants and a 15-minute IQ test. You should be ready for hypothetical case scenarios and problem-solving evaluations. Everyone was friendly, respectful, and professional. The experience was good, and I'd reapply, but the company seemed to lack diversity and mostly hired recent grads or long-term employees, with all consultants appearing to be white, which was concerning given their work in higher education.

Expect a long, multi-part interview and testing process (3 months in this case), where your progressive efforts appear to be in no way communicated to the various consultants, managers, or HR recruiters with whom you interact. After 3 phone interviews, a 90 minute writing test, 2 aptitude tests, and (finally) 2 onsite interviews, I heard zilch from EAB for weeks. The firm is trying to attract highly credential professionals with substantive experience inside higher ed, but (at least since EAB was acquired by Vista Equity), the bottom line is the candidate's adherence to consulting and case interview frameworks imported from the financial sector. The only real positive was that most of the employees I interfaced with were friendly.
