Technical Consultant
First, I had a phone interview with my potential manager. Then, I went for an onsite interview in Austin, which included a paid lunch. The interviews were mainly about assessing my fit and personality, with no technical questions.
- What do you know about manufacturing in NetSuite?

The interview process uses the Topgrading method and is more involved than a typical 45-minute hiring manager chat. Recruiting does an initial screen. Then, instead of meeting one or two people, you'll meet about 8 employees from different departments and levels, in groups of two. The first meeting focuses on your technical skills. The next step is a 4-hour block with 2 interviews and a less formal meeting in the middle where you meet 2 employees and can ask them anything. You'll discuss everything from your job history to what you were like in high school to how you handle real-life job stressors. It was a bit intimidating, but everyone was really friendly and gracious. I felt like the company got a full picture of me, and I got a good sense of the company culture from meeting so many different employees. The care they put into hiring makes me feel they also care about how they treat and keep employees. Don't be intimidated if you're in the process; it's worth the effort!
- I was asked about my technical skills, my job history, and my school history.
- I was asked many hypothetical scenario questions.
Consultant
Had an initial chat with the recruiter about my work history, company culture, and what I was looking for. Then, there was a technical interview. I had to complete a skills assessment beforehand, and then we went over my experience related to that assessment. I also had to work through some accounting transactions during this interview. The next interview was all about competencies, behavior, and emotional intelligence – basically how I'd react or handle certain situations. The final interview was a review of my work history. I also met with the recruiter after each interview to make sure we were still a good fit and both interested.
- Can you share a time you manipulated someone to achieve a desired outcome?
- Have you ever been asked to compromise your ethics at work?
- Under what circumstances would you consider acting unethically?
