Recruiting Director
So, about seven months ago, I interviewed with E78. At the time, I was already set on another offer I was really excited about. The E78 interview was pretty chill and friendly. The two people I met with genuinely wanted to understand me – my values, what I'm looking for in my career, you know? I walked away feeling like maybe I was making the wrong call by accepting the other offer, and that E78 might be the better fit. I was really torn because I was so far along with the other company. Despite my doubts, I took the other offer and even brought some of my colleagues with me. Thankfully, the E78 folks stayed in touch, sensing I might be making a mistake. They were super cool about keeping the door open for me when things at the other company became, well, unbearable. After six months with that other firm, I moved over to E78, and it's been a complete 180. I couldn't be happier to be here now.
- Can you tell me about your personal values and career aspirations?
Demand Generation Associate
The interview process was really fast and simple, which was great. I first spoke with a recruiter who told me a lot about the job and the projects I'd be doing. After that, I was told I'd have a second interview with a senior demand generation associate. That interview went well, and she was nice and easy to talk to. She described her daily work and projects, and I could see myself doing the job. The last interview was with my manager, and it gave me a good idea of his management style and what he expects. The whole thing took about three weeks, and they kept in touch.
- Can you share some details about your past experience?
- What information do you have about E78 Partners?
Consultant
Had an initial chat with the recruiter about my work history, company culture, and what I was looking for. Then, there was a technical interview. I had to complete a skills assessment beforehand, and then we went over my experience related to that assessment. I also had to work through some accounting transactions during this interview. The next interview was all about competencies, behavior, and emotional intelligence – basically how I'd react or handle certain situations. The final interview was a review of my work history. I also met with the recruiter after each interview to make sure we were still a good fit and both interested.
- Can you share a time you manipulated someone to achieve a desired outcome?
- Have you ever been asked to compromise your ethics at work?
- Under what circumstances would you consider acting unethically?
Fund Operations Associate
I interviewed with E78 in May of 2024. The first round, which was in person, went really well and felt like a good experience overall. However, the second and third rounds made me question their professionalism and how much they actually care about their image and recruiting future talent for the company. For the second round, I joined over Teams and interviewed with upper-level management who were in their car, wearing sweat-stained grey t-shirts. They also asked me a strange question where I had to compare an upper-level manager to a junior employee and state whose personality I 'preferred'. In the third round, another upper-level manager interviewed me. They seemed really unprepared with their questions, and their camera was off, which I found extremely unusual for a third-round conversation, especially for an entry-level job.
- Why are you interested in Hedge Fund Accounting or Private Equity?
- Whose personality do you prefer: an upper-level manager's or a junior-level employee's?
