I was really excited for this role because I love ELF as a company and know I could contribute. The recruiter rescheduled the first interview for me last minute, and then was late to the rescheduled time. The questions weren't hard, but the call felt rushed. I did move on to the next round. However, the recruiter sent us both different meeting links, so we ended up waiting separately. I didn't have the interviewer's email. The recruiter eventually contacted me, saying we 'just missed each other,' even though we were on different calls. I had a good conversation, but it was cut very short. She mentioned rescheduling, but after waiting for an email about it, I got a rejection instead. I felt really disrespected throughout this whole process.

Applied for an Office Manager position in LA for Fall 2025. The whole thing was a mess for over a month, really unprofessional. First, I had a recruiter call that seemed to go well, and she said I was a top contender and sent a link to schedule with the hiring manager. I set up the Zoom interview, but the hiring manager just didn't show up. No contact, nothing. I emailed a few times, and then after two days, the recruiter finally replied, apologizing for a 'scheduling mistake' because the hiring manager was traveling. She asked for my availability to reschedule, which I sent right away, but then got ghosted again over the weekend. Later, I got an email saying I didn't get the job. When I replied, the recruiter called me in a panic, saying the rejection was a mistake and they really wanted me to interview, claiming the role was moving to another recruiter and the system auto-sent the rejection. She apologized a lot and promised a goodie bag. After another week of emails, I finally got scheduled with the hiring manager. On the day of that interview, they pushed it back twice, first 30 mins, then another hour. The interview itself was rushed, only 30 minutes. The hiring manager seemed bored, questioned if I even understood the job, and acted like she had to be somewhere else. Didn't mention any of the mess. It's been over a month since then with total silence – no updates, no rejection. I've seen them post the job again and other jobs too. They never sent the promised goodie bag. Looking at other reviews, many people had similar experiences with being called top candidates, getting ghosted, scheduling chaos, and never hearing back. I should've checked those reviews first. For a company that talks about culture and valuing people, the whole experience was disorganized, disrespectful, and a waste of my time. It seems like this is how they operate, not just a one-off.

The recruiter I dealt with at e.l.f. was really disrespectful of candidates' time. First, she missed our initial Zoom call because her schedule didn't update correctly. After I followed up, we rescheduled, but she missed it again due to 'time zone issues.' I had to call her, and she interviewed me on the spot for about 15 minutes. She said she liked my background and wanted me to meet the hiring manager in person. After our call, she asked for my availability. I gave it to her, and then I was ghosted for two weeks. I followed up three times during those two weeks and finally got a rejection email with no reply. I had a referral for this role, and this is how I was treated. My friend who referred me mentioned that this recruiter is known for ghosting people. Overall, it was a bad experience. I'm not a fan of big companies that treat qualified candidates poorly.

We had 4 rounds with the external recruiting agency, and then 3 more with internal folks. All of the interviews were virtual, on camera. It was pretty laid back and conversational. They asked general interview questions about my background, experience, interests, and if I knew about the company.
