I had a call with HR, then the hiring manager. After that, there were 6 interviews back-to-back, each 45 minutes long, with people I might work with. The whole thing went pretty smoothly. They made sure to have different types of people interview me. The only part of the building I got to see was a conference room.

I applied in early June 2025. About 1.5-2 weeks later, the hiring manager contacted me for an initial screening. Two days after that, another team member reached out for more screening. Three weeks later, the recruiter called to set up the final on-site round. This involved a 30-minute technical presentation, followed by five back-to-back meetings with small groups of 1-3 people. The interviews themselves were nice; it felt more like a chat than an interrogation. What was disappointing was the lack of communication after the final round. They said I'd hear back within two weeks, but I didn't get a decision until over a month later, after I'd sent several emails. This was after they mentioned wanting to move quickly. The job was posted mid-May, they decided on someone else in early September, and then reposted it mid-September. Their definition of 'fast' is quite something.

For this internship, they asked questions straight from my resume, really focusing on my past work. There were also some material science and chemical engineering technical questions, though they were pretty basic, like knowing the difference between ultrafiltration and microfiltration. They also wanted to know if I was familiar with certain materials characterization equipment.

I went through 2 interviews for this role. The first one was an hour, and the second was over 3 hours, and it included a lab test. HR had some communication issues. They sent me a detailed schedule about two weeks before the second interview saying I needed to do a presentation, which I then prepared slides for. But then about a week and a half later, they told me I didn't need to do the presentation anymore. So I wasted time on that. The second interview had 4-5 interviews back-to-back, and they asked different questions during each. Then they had me do a lab part. The most frustrating part was that there was no feedback at the end of this really long process. It took over a month between interviews, and I still don't know why it wasn't a good fit. I think this shows the company's quality and how they value the time and effort of people interviewing, especially in the final stages.
