Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dyson.
Marketing
The interview process involved 3 rounds. I was told I would hear back in 1-2 weeks regarding their final decision, but I never did. I followed up twice and got no response, which was disappointing after putting in so much time. Not getting any communication after multiple interviews feels disrespectful and unprofessional. Even a short rejection email would have been fine. They should improve this.
- Can you share a past experience and how you navigated a particular challenge?
- How do you think you would handle various hypothetical scenarios?
Marketing
HR called me out of the blue to chat, didn't even check my availability via email. She asked basic stuff about me and when I had questions, she couldn't answer and told me to ask the hiring manager. Then I met the hiring manager, and it was a terrible time. They were super rude and kept doubting me, making weird assumptions. It's a huge red flag if you ask me. I love Dyson products, but this company culture is a real letdown.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in Dyson?
- What are your thoughts on coding your own HTML?
- What prompts your decision to leave your current company?
Marketing Executive
Applied via website with CV. Round 1 was an email with a form to assess motivation and values, covering current role, tasks, why Dyson, and why this specific role/category. Round 2 was an interview with the Manager to discuss background, what I look for in a role, situational and role-specific questions, areas for improvement, what I can offer, and why Dyson. Round 3 involved a case study presentation on the category to the Manager and Head of Marketing, followed by discussions on adaptability, company/team structure, and character fit. Round 4 was a final interview/meetup with the Managing Director, more of a conversation. Round 5 was the Offer + Conversation with HR.
- Why Dyson, and why this role?
- Tell me about a time when you led a team or a project.
- How do you deal with sudden changes in plans?
