First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dyson.
Internship
So the first step was this HireVue thing where you record your answers, and then there are two little games. If you pass that, you move on to a second online interview with HR and a manager.
- Tell me why you're interested in this company.
- Could you tell me a bit about yourself?
Internal Communications
Got a quick response to my application and emails about setting up appointments were fast. The second interview started about 20 minutes late, which was a bit of a bummer and seems common since people are in so many meetings. They really seemed to focus on work-life balance. After I emailed asking for more info, I got an automatic rejection. I was surprised they needed three stages, as it's a lot of time, especially when you're juggling other interviews.
- How can you handle a heavy workload while maintaining a good work-life balance?
International Marketing
The process started great. Communication with the talent team was good, and I got feedback quickly. But in January, things went downhill. I did a video assessment on the 10th and was told I'd know by the end of the month. I didn't get the results until the last week of March, by which time I'd already accepted another job. On top of that, the talent team was slow to respond, if they responded at all. When they did, it was a generic answer, followed by an excuse about having 1500 applicants. I'm very disappointed by the unprofessionalism from a company like Dyson. It might have been a one-off, but it makes me question their efficiency.
- What is your motivation for applying to Dyson?
