First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dynatrace.
Product Manager
The interview process was extensive, but the people were friendly. It typically included an initial screening by HR, followed by an interview with the hiring manager, and then a case study. It was a bit unusual because the role required a technical PM, yet no technical questions were posed during the case study.

Product Manager
Dynatrace's hiring process was great—fast and smooth, and they kept me in the loop on everything. It kicked off with a quick call from the recruiter and then a video chat with the hiring manager. We chatted about my background and experiences. The hiring manager was super prepared, knew my CV and cover letter inside out, and gave me a good rundown of the job, what I'd be doing, and the team vibe. After that, I had an assignment and then an onsite workshop with important people, which was both fun and informative. Everyone was really nice and gave me helpful feedback. I got the offer a few days later and had a call with the onboarding folks. The recruiter stayed in touch and made sure I didn't have any outstanding questions. Honestly, it was a fantastic hiring experience.

Principal Product Manager
First, I spoke with HR about the job requirements and what they were looking for. HR made it clear what the minimum salary was and that we shouldn't waste each other's time if that couldn't be met. Then, HR confirmed that the salary expectations were possible and we moved on to a technical interview with the Director and a Principal Manager. They asked technical questions and clarified intentions, requirements, and expectations, including my compensation package. After that, it seemed like we were on the same page, so they gave me a Technical Workshop, which involved solving real internal problems. I wasn't paid for this assignment, but they used it to get ideas on how to solve internal issues. Since everything else seemed agreed upon, I proceeded with the interview and presentation for the technical questions. Four people were present, and they mostly focused on the technical aspects. Finally, I received a call with an offer for a Senior position with a much lower salary, and a team member with less experience was placed at a higher seniority. It was a complete waste of my time. I'd avoid this company and make sure the position is locked before agreeing to any assignments. They seem to play games and aren't serious.
- Can you tell me about a personal project you found difficult?
