Customer Success Manager
The recruiter I interacted with displayed poor communication and a lack of professionalism. I initially applied for the role on LinkedIn and was subsequently contacted for a Zoom screening call. The recruiter, who initially scheduled the call, had to reschedule at the last minute. When we finally connected, I felt the recruiter was disconnected, exhibited off-putting body language, and seemed disengaged, which came across as rude and unprofessional. Although I understand everyone has off days, I strive to maintain professionalism with clients. After about a week, I received an automated email stating they were proceeding with other candidates. Given my qualifications and internal references, I expected at least a second interview. I reached out for specific feedback on why I wasn't moving forward, but received no response. While I understand it was an initial screening, I invested time in researching the company and role to prepare. I believe they could have at least shared the hiring manager's feedback regarding areas for improvement. They should improve their communication and strive for professionalism, even on difficult days. I am generally flexible and believe most candidates are. If experiencing a personal challenge, it's better to reschedule than to make candidates feel their time is being wasted.
- Tell me about your past experience working as a CSM.
Customer Success Manager
The interview process was great, starting from the HR chat all the way through to the hiring managers and then a case study. They laid out each part of the process at the beginning. I always got feedback afterwards. The questions they asked were on the spot and really aimed at figuring out if someone would be a good CSM. I really liked the energy and flexibility of everyone. The case study did take me a bit to prep since the product isn't the simplest, but the interviewers were chill and understanding, which made it easy. Overall a really good experience!
- Can you explain the distinction between observability and monitoring?
- Describe your approach when faced with a question from a challenging client that you don't know the answer to.
Customer Success Manager
Interview was pretty straightforward. There were a few interview rounds (phone and in-person), and they asked questions about my past experiences in making sure customers are happy. I got through a few interviews, including a one-on-one, face-to-face chat with the hiring manager. I thought it went really well, but after a few follow-ups, I never heard back. It's a bit discouraging because I was really keen on the role. A few months ago, I saw the job posted again, so I reached out to the recruiter then, and still no response. I did not hear back from her either.
- Could you please prepare and deliver a presentation focused on customer experience?
