First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dynata.
Business Development Consultant
First spoke with HR, then the team lead, and then had a longer interview with the vertical director. No case interview was involved, but there were definitely several questions about how I approach challenges, obstacles, and show determination.
- Could you explain your approach to the sales cycle and the key metrics you focus on?
- What are your strategies for navigating the sales cycle and which metrics are most important to you?
Business Development Director
I had a 10 minute phone chat with the HR Coordinator. The next day, the HR Coordinator emailed me to set up an in-person interview. It was set for 5 days later. The in-person interview was with 4 people on a panel and went for 2 hours. They mentioned they wanted to hire someone fast and I'd hear back soon. But, I never got any communication after that.
- Can you describe the sales cycle at your current company?
- What portion of your current employer's revenue comes from business you solely generated this past year?
- Each month, how much new business do you secure for your current employer?
Business Development Manager
I arrived at a nice office and waited about an hour. The person I was supposed to meet with had a conflict and couldn't make it. After waiting nearly an hour, I was called into a conference room to meet with the Head Manager and Sales Manager. They talked about the company's vision, which really resonated with me. The interview felt very successful, and I was confident I could excel in the role. They said I'd hear back soon, but I never did. I followed up two weeks later as suggested, but received no response, which was quite frustrating since I felt it was a perfect fit. I did notice the Sales Manager didn't seem very engaged during the meeting, almost as if they were just going through the motions. But when you know your value, you realize it's not your loss. I'll move on to better opportunities.
- Can you share an instance where you faced disappointment or a situation that didn't unfold as expected?
