Customer Success Manager
The whole thing took 6 weeks, with a bunch of interviews and assessments. For the final presentation, they let you chat with a CSM to get some feedback. A CSM hopped on a call, but they seemed totally unprepared and didn't even know what the assignment was. Then they said the assignment was in a good place and to cut out these "red herrings" during the presentation, which had 15 people on it. The VP spent most of the time on their phone and wasn't really paying attention. I didn't get the job. Trying to get any feedback on why was like pulling teeth, even after 6 weeks. Eventually, they said my presentation didn't cover all the scenarios, which was weird because they told me to remove them! It was pretty bizarre.

Customer Success Manager
So I applied for the job, and then I had a phone interview with the head of the department. He was really nice and made me feel comfortable. He started by telling me about himself, the company, and the job. Then, he asked me to talk a little about myself and my background. At the end, he said that while I seemed like a good person with good experience, he didn't think I was the right fit for what he was looking for. He mentioned he still had a few more calls to make and would let me know the decision. Three days later, I got an email saying they weren't moving forward with my application.
- Can you describe your relevant experience for this role?
Customer Success Manager
I applied for a position in Berlin. The first step was a call with the hiring manager, which was very professional and interesting. The second step involved a home task that took at least 2 days to complete. It included data analysis, answering open-ended questions, and preparing a 30-minute presentation. The third step was presenting the slides to the hiring manager and another CSM team member. After the presentation, I immediately got unconstructive feedback from the CSM team member, who seemed to have a bad attitude from the start. I haven't heard back from HR yet, almost a month after the presentation, so I don't think I'll move forward. I followed up ten days after the presentation, and they said I'd get feedback within the next ten days, but I'm still waiting. I'm disappointed with how the process and the feedback were handled. Given my 6+ years of experience in client-facing roles, he shouldn't be critiquing my presentation skills. I did have a positive experience with the hiring manager, who was professional and respectful throughout.
