First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DXL Big & Tall.
Assistant Manager
The interview process was slow because customers kept coming into the store and interrupting. It was followed up by phone. A background check is required, and your resume is important.
- Are you looking for a long-term commitment?
Assistant Manager
The Store Manager posted the job on Craigslist and then interviewed me. After that, I spoke with the current Assistant Manager. Unfortunately, she was quite condescending. Even though I've been a long-time customer and know a lot about selling to bigger guys, I proceeded to HR. The next steps included a psychological profile test and a 1-hour phone interview. HR said I passed and that I should anticipate an interview with the Regional Manager, but I never heard back and my calls weren't returned.
- Can you tell me about your experience with sales?
Assistant Manager
I had 3 interviews for this Assistant Manager role. It took about a month to hear back after the initial interviews. Finally, I got a call about moving forward and they made an offer. The offer was for $7.88 base pay plus commission, which was a bit surprising after waiting so long.
- Can you tell me about your background?
- What do you consider your main strengths and areas for improvement?
- What motivates you to apply for this position?
