First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DUTY FIRST CONSULTING.
Health Policy and Operations Analyst
It took about 2-3 weeks from start to finish. I first got a message from the Senior Manager, and then had a video call for an initial screening. After that, I had a group interview with the team. While I really liked the Senior Manager, the second interview, which lasted 2 hours, wasn't great. For the first hour, I met with two different teams. The first team seemed kind of unenthusiastic and asked really basic questions, which didn't make me feel excited about the company. They left after 30 minutes, and the second team joined. They were nicer, but the whole thing felt a bit pointless because they asked the exact same questions the first team did. I was just repeating myself, trying to say things differently. It felt like they hadn't coordinated beforehand. To make it even longer, after the hour-long phone interview, we had to do a one-hour assessment on video with the Management Analyst. The assessment itself was pretty straightforward – an Excel sheet and a document to review, which should have taken less than 30 minutes. However, the Management Analyst didn't explain the instructions clearly, so because of the bad guidance, I ended up doing way more work than needed and stressed myself out for the full hour. I didn't get an offer, and the Management Analyst never replied to my request for feedback. Honestly, if they're going to make you do a two-hour interview that could easily be an hour, the least they could do is be responsive. Overall, it was a really negative experience.
- What kind of support would you expect to receive from your managers?
Analyst
I had a call with the hiring manager, then I was invited for an in-person interview and skills assessment. The in-person part involved team interviews. It was strange to me that the team didn't seem to take any notes, just looking at my resume. I was pretty disappointed since I traveled from out of state and they couldn't even bother to note down what I said.
- How would your colleagues characterize you?
Senior Consultant
So I talked to a bunch of people who work there, like 4 interviews in one day, each with 2+ people interviewing me. Each interview was about 20 mins. I liked that they had current employees interview me so I knew what I was getting into. It was a lot though, like 2 hours of straight interviews.
- Could you tell me what you consider your weaknesses to be?
Healthcare Analyst
Had an initial chat with a junior person, then an excel test and a behavioral evaluation. After that, I had 3 video calls with senior managers, each about 30 minutes long.
