Teacher
It was pretty straightforward. Had one interview, could be in-person, phone, or video, with about 2-3 principals or vice-principals. They asked about my skills, experience, and how I'd tackle the job. Also got to ask them stuff about the school and the role.
- Tell me about your classroom management techniques.
- How do you incorporate technology into your teaching, particularly regarding content?
- Can you discuss your approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom?
Teacher
The interview process involved five sets of questions focusing on teaching skills for subjects, equity and inclusion, and assessment. It was a virtual interview where all questions were visible as the interview progressed. The interviewers were the school administrators, principal, and vice principal.
- In what ways do your background and skills align with the subject area you teach?
- How does your background and skill set relate to the subject area?
- Can you explain how your background and skills are relevant to the subject area?
Teacher
The ladies who interviewed me were retired principals. They were very nice, and didn't mind the fact that I was very young applying to the job (wasn't made to feel stupid). Software used is sketchy and difficult to use; why can't they just use Zoom or Google Meets?
- How would you handle a situation where two children are talking during class and do not stop when asked to pay attention?
