The interview process at DuPont is pretty involved and is meant to check your technical chops and if you'd fit in with the team. It usually takes a full day and goes like this: First, you'll do a Technical Presentation. Then, you'll have One-on-One Interviews with people on the team, which makes you feel like you're already part of things. After that, there's a Lab Tour to see the DuPont facilities. The day wraps up with a Final Meeting with the Hiring Manager.

I had an on-campus interview with some alumni, and then a second interview on-site about a month and a half later. The on-site involved giving a seminar and then doing a bunch of one-on-one and two-on-one interviews with people on the team. They didn't make it clear what the job was about, even when I asked. They seemed to want someone with a totally different background. Hiring is also slow right now because of the market. The team didn't seem very interested in my research, which was weird since they picked my resume.

First there was a thirty minute phone interview where the position was described, interest was established and questions directed toward my qualifications for the position were discussed. The following day an invitation for an on-site interview was scheduled. The on-site interview was typical for a PhD with a presentation and multiple meetings with relevant personnel.
