Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Duke University.
Intern
Had a quick casual chat with the department head. They seemed most interested in my motivation for working at the office and asked about my availability for set meetings.
- What motivates your desire to work with us?
Intern
The interview process was great. It started with one phone interview, followed by another phone interview. After that, there was an on-campus interview that lasted a full day. The interviewers were really helpful and friendly. They asked very basic questions to get to know me better, and there were hardly any difficult questions. It was a very neutral interview process.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
Intern
I only had one round for this internship. I had a Skype interview with the on-site director, and the whole team was very professional. It was a good experience overall. I heard back a few weeks later, and the process was very streamlined. I really enjoyed talking to everyone.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in Duke?
