I had 2 interviews, each with a different person. The first one was about an hour long and had two parts: a background review covering my experience and hobbies, and questions about specific situations I'd faced, mostly retail-related, like how I handle angry customers. The second interview was about half an hour, where we talked more about my past experiences, I was asked to sell a product, and we discussed the job itself.

I applied online for the Duane Reade job and they called me back a couple days later to set up an interview. It was a group interview where they asked a few questions like how I'd deal with a rude customer. They said if you answer about two or three questions and make sure your voice is heard, you'll be fine. They decide who they want that same day and then you come back the next day to be assigned to a branch.

It was a standard interview process. They really dove into my past work experience. I also had to answer a lot of questions about how I'd manage different scenarios that might come up on the job. I spoke with the assistant manager first, who was really nice, and then had a brief chat with the store manager.
