Customer Service Representative
The interview process utilizes the STAR Method. You'll need to share stories about a situation or task you encountered, the actions you took to address it, and the results of those actions. Be sure to include examples from your work experience and emphasize the results, as these are frequently overlooked. Quantifiable improvements are a plus where possible.
- Can you recount an instance when you encountered a difficulty with a supervisor?
- Tell me about a time you had to deal with a problem involving your manager.
Customer Service Representative
The interview involves a panel discussion with 3 or more people, including a departmental supervisor, two other supervisors or analysts, and the union representative. They will ask about 3-4 questions each. A few days later, HR from DTE will contact you to discuss the next steps, which include drug testing, a background check, and confirming your eligibility to start working.
- Can you share an instance where you had to manage a challenging customer interaction?
Customer Service Representative
So you have to take two assessments before you can have an actual interview. The whole process is incredibly slow, I applied in June and didn't get an interview until August. During the interview, they use the STAR method and if you follow it, they ask you questions you've already answered! It's really frustrating. Trevor T Cousineau wasn't engaging at all, seemed like he didn't want to be there, and barely looked at the camera during our Zoom interview, even though the camera was supposed to be on. It felt like a waste of time, and I ended up finding a better, less stressful, and better-paying job. I'd recommend looking elsewhere unless you're really desperate.
- Can you describe an instance where you needed to adjust your schedule at the last minute?
- How did you manage that situation?
- What steps did you take to address it?
