Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DSW.
Sales Supervisor
The interview was up beat and very nice. They started by asking me about myself which was nice to relax me. I was interviewed by two managers for an hour. The questions were all great. I was pushed through to meet with the manager so I may get the job. I have buckets of experience but haven’t worked in a while due to advancing my ex husbands career. So we will see.
- Tell me about why you chose DSW.
Sales Supervisor
It was straightforward and fast. They asked a lot about my past experiences and how I'd deal with different scenarios. They also went deep into the job's responsibilities. I got to ask my own questions and could review the system flow before accepting the offer.
- How would you manage a challenging customer?
- Can you share your past experiences?
- How would you approach specific customer situations?
Sales
Standard interview with one of the assistant managers. Got the distinct impression that this person didn’t understand what I was saying because this manager thought I was a black and white person when in fact I’m the polar opposite of that.
- Tell me about a difficult customer service experience you had and how you handled it.
