The interview process began with a telephone screening. This was followed by an in-person interview where I met with three staff members, spending about half an hour with each. During these meetings, each person asked questions related to specific categories, focusing on how I'd handled various situations. It was a positive experience overall, and everyone I met was friendly, welcoming, and professional.

DRT Strategies reached out about a position after finding my resume online. We had a brief 5-minute call to start, and then scheduled a 30-minute formal phone interview. They were nice and flexible with timing. The phone interview covered my experience, and I got to ask about their work and culture. Next was a 30-45 minute in-person interview with the president, which gave good insight into the company. I talked to three people in total. Everyone seemed passionate about their work and treated employees well. It was a great experience.

Behavioral Technical

The initial telephone screening was a bit rough, conducted in a noisy conference room. It seemed like the small company might be inexperienced or short-staffed. I was then invited for an in-person interview at their office in Arlington, VA. They knew I was flying in from out of town and was unemployed, and that I would cover travel costs. I expected a full-day interview to get to know each other, which I felt would justify the travel expense. However, the in-person interview was surprisingly cut short at just 30 minutes. Again, this felt like inexperience from the company's hiring process. No application was provided, and in hindsight, I suspect they weren't that serious about hiring me. It felt inconsiderate to have me spend $500 on travel given my situation. I didn't hear back for several weeks, longer than they indicated. When I finally did, they said they were still interviewing others and would update me later. I basically told them not to bother.
