I was contacted about a possible job, then had a phone screening, followed by an hour-long phone interview, then a 30-minute video chat, and finally about a 90-minute in-person interview. They hinted I got the job, but then almost two weeks later told me the requirements had changed. The whole process felt disorganized and unprofessional, wasting everyone's time with all the interviews.

The initial telephone screening was a bit rough, conducted in a noisy conference room. It seemed like the small company might be inexperienced or short-staffed. I was then invited for an in-person interview at their office in Arlington, VA. They knew I was flying in from out of town and was unemployed, and that I would cover travel costs. I expected a full-day interview to get to know each other, which I felt would justify the travel expense. However, the in-person interview was surprisingly cut short at just 30 minutes. Again, this felt like inexperience from the company's hiring process. No application was provided, and in hindsight, I suspect they weren't that serious about hiring me. It felt inconsiderate to have me spend $500 on travel given my situation. I didn't hear back for several weeks, longer than they indicated. When I finally did, they said they were still interviewing others and would update me later. I basically told them not to bother.

I was contacted by the recruiter. The recruiter then put me in touch with the person who would do my technical interview. I had a long interview with the technical lead. We had similar backgrounds, so it was easy to talk. Then, I had a face-to-face meeting with management, which went well. They made a job offer in less than 24 hours. I accepted, and I'm happy!

The interview process involved 3 rounds. It started with an initial phone screening, followed by a non-technical interview, and then a technical interview. No coding was involved. It consisted of conversations with different staff, including HR, a consultant, and a more senior consultant in my area of interest. My interview felt light-hearted, and they were more interested in understanding my thought process rather than putting me under pressure.
