I interviewed with 4 managers for about an hour. It was in person. They asked the typical questions like 'tell me about yourself', 'strengths/weaknesses', and about my Excel and JDA experience. Then I had a second interview with a higher manager.

So, they told me I'd be putting up IRC coupons and displays, but what they *didn't* tell me was that most of my job would be doing resets. They were really unclear about the phone interview at first. I didn't know until after I sent in all my paperwork and did some of the training. Then I called the manager at Driveline Retail, and she finally told me at the very end that my main job would be nothing but RESETS in the stores.

I had a phone screen with a bunch of questions to see if I fit the work environment. Then I had a face to face interview with three managers. The process involved a lot of questions that didn't seem related to the part-time buyer assistant role I applied for; it felt like I was interviewing for CEO.

  • Were you aware that this role requires you to be outdoors approximately 85% of the time?
  • Would you be open to working at different CarMax locations, or are you only interested in the Tampa location?

I saw an ad for this job on a Dollar General store door and called the number listed about them hiring. The first lady I interviewed with was super nice and helpful. We met, talked for a bit, and she actually called me the very next day to offer me the position. She was a great person, really sweet, caring, kind, and helpful. She trained me, but then she left the company about two years later, and that's when things really went downhill. The new district manager was just awful to work for. She was constantly calling and yelling at me and was not professional at all, using cuss words and screaming about everything! I ended up quitting because I couldn't handle her personality or how she treated me and other people.
