Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DreamWorks Animation.
Lighting Artist
There were four interviews in total, with 3-4 people in each. One of those interviews was specifically for tech/troubleshooting, and the other three involved a mix of leads and/or supervisors.
- What should you do if you've exhausted all troubleshooting steps for an issue?
Lighting Artist
So the interview was in two parts. First, I had a call with the recruiter who told me about the job offer and what I'd be doing day-to-day. Then, there was supposed to be an interview with some artists from the company to check my artistic and technical skills. But, I didn't get to the second interview because they couldn't sponsor visas for international applicants back then.
- What software are you familiar with?
- Would you be open to moving to the USA/Los Angeles for this role?
3D Animator
It was pretty straightforward but challenging. Lots of tricky questions, so you really need to know your 3D animation skills inside and out. To do well in this internship interview, make sure your whole portfolio is top-notch.
- Can you introduce yourself and discuss your achievements?
