Product Owner
The conversation lasted over 2.5 hours. We realized after 30 minutes that we weren't a good fit, but the interview was unnecessarily extended. Mostly unrelated questions about my entire CV were asked, some inappropriate and irrelevant for the role. On top of that, I've never experienced such uncontrolled glances from a male interviewer.
- Why do you describe yourself as good and not very good?
Program Manager
It was a long and difficult 5-month process. The lack of communication and casual disregard for the job seeker's time and anxiety in the current job market showed a lack of empathy and bordered on cruelty. The hiring manager interviewed me three times because he forgot details about me as the process dragged on. The recruiter never updated or briefed me before, during, or after the process. It was a textbook example of how NOT to recruit.
- Can you discuss Risk Management?
- What are your thoughts on Agile methodologies?
- Describe your experience with Quality processes.
Cyber Security Specialist
I applied for the Regional Cyber Security Specialist role and it was a really bad experience. Getting to the location cost me a lot of money ($40+ for private hire) because it's so inaccessible. When I got there, I found out the job wasn't what was advertised. It turned out to be a pre-sales job, not a technical one. I felt totally misled and like my time and money were wasted, which is tough when people are looking for work and every dollar counts. Companies should really make sure their job descriptions are accurate to avoid this kind of situation.
- The questions asked weren't about cyber security; they were more like basic IT questions.
Mechanical Engineer
A Dräger recruiter contacted me about a Mechanical Engineer I role in Telford, PA. The initial interaction seemed fine, but on the interview day, the recruiter emailed last minute asking to reschedule for Monday because they hadn't heard back from me within 15 minutes (on a Friday at the end of the day). I replied, a bit confused, but agreed to reschedule and we ironed out a time. However, the recruiter didn't call at the scheduled time, so I waited 15 minutes and then called them. We discussed my experience, and I felt good about it. The next morning, the recruiter let me know they'd already chosen someone closer to their needs. This whole thing took 5 days just to get a rejection that could have been a simple, quick process. I'm guessing they already had someone in mind and were just messing around with the process. This was my first time experiencing such unprofessionalism in recruiting. If a Dräger recruiter suddenly reschedules without a real reason, it might be best to call them out or just move on from this company.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
- How familiar are you with CAD software?
