Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dow Jones.
Analyst
The process went quite smoothly, we had a conversation about my previous experiences and my motivations for wanting to join the company. They aimed to get a good understanding of my background and it seemed like they were genuinely assessing if I would be a good fit for the role.
- Can you tell me about your resume?
Analyst
The interviewers were friendly and seemed like a nice company. Unfortunately I never heard back after the interview despite following up 1.5 weeks late. Very disappointing and poor communication from HR to ignore a student at an early stage of their career. HR seems to be quite disorganisedl. Would expect a response after a final stage interview, that was incredibly last minute and required 4 hours of travel into the office. Even a generic rejection email would of been nice instead of seeing a Linkedin post from the other candidate who got the role!
- Why are you interested in Dow Jones and what is your knowledge about our company?
Analyst
The interview process was a positive experience overall. It was conducted in a professional and welcoming setting which made it easy to communicate. The interviewers were clear in their questioning and provided detailed explanations about the role, which helped me understand the position and the company well. However, the benefits offered weren't quite what I was looking for. Specifically, aspects like flexible working hours, the remote work policy, and opportunities for career advancement are important for my work-life balance, and these didn't quite meet my expectations. So, even though the interview itself went well, the benefits weren't enough to make me want to continue with the process.
