First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Douglas Emmett.
Administrative Assistant
The hiring process involved a total of 4 interviews, broken down into 2 preliminary calls, a meeting with a Senior VP, and a final interview with a community manager. There was also an aptitude test. This was quite an extensive process that spanned about 4 weeks. Three of the interviews were conducted virtually over Zoom, while the final interview and the aptitude test were done in person. The test took place at the corporate headquarters, and the interview with the community manager was an onsite visit.

Project Accountant
This was the best interview process! It started with a quick HR phone screening, and then they set up an in-person interview. They told me I'd be there for a few hours to meet several managers. Basically, I met with each manager one-on-one during this single, multi-stage interview. I thought this was great because it respected my time by not making me come back for separate interviews with different people. The whole thing was about 2-3 hours and went by really fast.

- Can you tell me about your past jobs and why you are no longer with them or looking to move on?
Marketing Coordinator
This role's hiring process was super fast. My first interview was on Tuesday where I met the recruiter and the Marketing Director. Then, I had a second interview on Wednesday with the Chief Information Officer and got offered the job right then. I started the following Monday. It was pretty stressful with how fast it was moving, but it worked out great in the end.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
- What about your weaknesses?
- Given this marketing flyer, what would be your process for creating it?
Commercial Property Manager
I was contacted by a friendly recruiter via LinkedIn. The hiring process was fast and easy, and they were accommodating to my current work schedule. The interviews included a chat with the recruiter, then meetings with two directors, followed by a final meeting with my potential supervisor. The whole experience, from our first contact to accepting the offer, was completed in less than a week.
