Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Douglas Elliman Real Estate.
Intern
The interview process was really delayed, which showed a lack of respect for candidates' time, and they didn't even apologize for it. This might differ depending on the group you're interviewing with, as I'm sure some groups are more professional.
- Can you describe your familiarity with New York?
Intern
The interview process was pretty straightforward. Be ready to talk about the real estate industry and your own background. Overall, it was a good experience, and the people I interviewed with were amazing. It's an unpaid internship, though. You'll need to discuss your past jobs and how they'll be beneficial in real estate, and what you can offer to Elliman.
- What has been your most memorable moment in a previous job?
- How can your past experiences help you in the real estate field?
- In what ways can you contribute to Elliman?
Intern
The interview process took about two weeks. For the actual interview, I was mostly asked behavioral questions, some basic questions about the market, and also questions about deals the team had done before.
- Can you share details about your previous experiences?
- In your opinion, what will endure in today's retail market?
- What are your thoughts on the team's past deals?
