Customer Experience Analyst
HR called to talk about company goals and see if I was interested. Then I spoke with the director of CX, who asked me questions from a spreadsheet and didn't seem very engaged, even showing up in a casual sweatshirt. After two weeks of silence, I followed up, and after another week without a response, I checked in again. Three weeks after the initial call, I got a reply saying they were still reviewing candidates. A week after that, I finally received an automated email stating they had chosen someone else. The whole experience felt unprofessional.
- Why did you choose dorman?
Embedded Software Design Engineer
I went through a 30-minute technical interview and then a 20-minute discussion with a manager. The technical part really dove into my embedded systems knowledge, covering things like microcontrollers, how UART works, interrupts, and duty cycles. There were also some questions about basic C programming.
- Questions about embedded systems and C programming were asked.
Product Manager
I went through 7 interviews for the Assistant Product Manager role. Most of them were with other Product Managers, one was with the Chief of Product, and the last one was with HR. The HR person was super helpful and kept me in the loop. They asked me standard behavioral questions, but honestly, most of the conversations were really engaging and I enjoyed talking with them! In the end, they mentioned I might be overqualified for the position and decided not to move forward with an offer.
- What do you think are the main distinctions between B2B and B2C models?
Laboratory Engineer
We had a quick chat on campus where they asked me about my previous jobs, what I'm interested in, and my school stuff. Then, they showed me a 3D printed part and asked if I knew what it was. They said if I did a bit of digging into what they do and how they do it, and if I knew a little about car parts, I shouldn't be worried. Just keep telling them you know car parts, that you're good at teamwork, and really want to learn.
