Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DoorDash.
Recruiting Manager
I had two interview rounds, but withdrew due to a bad candidate experience. The first was with the recruiter and was fine, leading to a second interview with the hiring manager. However, the hiring manager was 15 minutes late for our 30-minute chat. I tried contacting both the recruiter and hiring manager five minutes in to confirm if we were still on, but got no response. Just as I was about to leave, the hiring manager appeared, apologizing for technical issues. They could have at least messaged me or rescheduled. Given I'm interviewing for a Recruiting Manager role, their handling of the candidate experience wasn't up to par with my team's standards. The recruiter contacted me the next day, and I used that chance to withdraw.

Technical Recruiter
I did the onsite for Doordash. I was given the focus area ahead of time so it was good to know what type of questions they would ask. Everything was good in the interview for the most part, however, pretty bad candidate experience from Doordash on the delivery of onsite feedback. The recruiter never got back to me until I followed up 3 times after a week of doing the onsite interview. I finally got a response after a week with a rejection template. When asked to follow up for a call, she completely went dark on me. If they're going to treat candidates like that in the post-interview experience, I can't imagine how they treat their employees.

Technical Recruiter
It was a pretty simple process. Started with a phone call, then moved on to a video call. The people interviewing me both asked standard questions about my background, my work history, and my motivation for applying to this role, etc. Everyone I spoke with was pleasant and seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me. Plus, the recruiter was super quick to respond.
