Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DoorDash.
Product Manager
The hiring process was pretty simple with an HR call, then a first round, and then a final round. However, the behavioral interviews felt really rushed. The interviewers kept cutting me off and changing the subject, so I couldn't finish my answers using the STAR method. I thought I did well and got good feedback from the first round, so I was surprised to get rejected.
- How would you enhance the worst post-booking experience for XYZ?
- What are your ideas for improving Uber's ride quality?
- Can you suggest ways to improve the discovery experience on Airbnb?
Product Manager
The interview process started with a recruiter screen and then a 45-minute Product screen. The final round consisted of four parts: Product values (30 minutes), Product Retro (45 minutes), Product Sense (45 minutes), and Product Execution (45 minutes). Scheduling was very efficient, and I got the results the day after the final interview.
- For the 1st PM screen (Product Execution), how would you figure out the worst experiences after booking with American Airlines?
- For the Product Sense final round, pick one from [Craiglists, Etsy, Rover, etc.] and explain how you'd increase revenue by 3x in 5 years.
- As a PM at Lyft, how would you boost quality over the next 6 months?
Product Manager
The interview process for this role is pretty standard and you can find details online. The HR person was nice, but the interviewer was not.
- Tell me about a time you had to prioritize product features.
- What are your thoughts on product retrospectives?
- What product values do you hold?
