Account Executive
My candidate experience was bad because the recruiter didn't communicate for a long time. After the interviews were done, they ghosted me and I didn't get any follow-up or closure, even though I tried to contact them many times. It was confusing and frustrating, and it wasn't professional. It's really disappointing because other people have complained about her communication before. I would suggest the company look at this feedback and deal with it because it makes the candidate experience bad and doesn't make the company look good.

Software Engineer In Test
So I had 5 technical and behavioral rounds, each 30 mins, spread over 2 weeks. They asked me about my projects and technical work, and it seemed to go well, the team was impressed. HR called me a few days later saying things were looking good and an offer might be coming. But then the next day, HR called again saying the Senior Leadership had cancelled the role because of operational issues. It's a really bad experience after going through 5 rounds and putting in all that time and effort. I hope this doesn't happen to other candidates. This is definitely one of my worst interview experiences.
- Can you tell me about your projects and the work you have done?
Principal Software Engineer
It started with a phone call from the recruiter, then another with the Hiring Manager and a senior engineer, though the HM didn't show up until the last five minutes. I was interviewed by someone else who seemed intimidated by me, possibly a threat, and then maybe more interviews until I was fed up. I'm not sure what the strategy is. The questions were oddly phrased, designed to trick you, like a 'read my mind' game. I tried my best to answer them correctly, but some felt intentionally misleading. It felt disrespectful, like my skills and experience weren't valued. Save your time and check the negative reviews; they're accurate. This seems like a fake job posting.
- Can you share your experience related to our specific work, and what do you think we need?
- Based on what you know about us, what kind of experience are we looking for?
- Tell me about your experience in a way that relates to our specific needs.
Project Manager
This interview process was pretty straightforward and easy. A recruiter from a third party contacted me because they work with DFIN. We chatted and realized there could be a good fit. After some emails and calls, and a video chat with the recruiter, they set up an in-person interview at the DFIN office. It lasted about two hours, and they got back to me really quickly. The recruiting account manager called me the same week to say they had good news and the hiring manager wanted to offer me the job.
- How do you handle it when multiple projects have competing deadlines?
- Can you share an instance where you had to let a client down?
- Tell me about a project that was successful.
