First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dollar Tree.
Sales Associate
It was a super chill interview, felt really friendly. Like, unless they already know you're not a fit, you're basically good to go for the job right away. Mine was right at the front of the store, so just be ready for anything, you know?
- Tell me about your availability.
- What kind of shifts are you looking to work?
- What's your usual mode of transportation?
Sales Associate
It was really easy, they just went over my resume and asked about my availability. I got hired right away, which might be a red flag since this job is awful and the managers expect you to do a million things. They also always hand the phone to me to take calls even though they're the ones stocking and not constantly on the phone.
- Can you tell me about your availability?
Sales Associate
The whole process took me about two months. My initial application got lost, so I had to fill out another one when I came into the store to check on it. After I submitted the second application, it was about a week and a half before they called me to set up an in-person interview with the manager, which was scheduled for a couple of days later. The interview itself felt like the manager was trying to recruit me! We had a casual chat for about 30 minutes about the team, my availability, the hours, and the pay. After that, she got me set up in their system. It was a really straightforward and relaxed process. If you're keen on getting a job here, being persistent and following up is super important!
