Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dolby.
Financial Analyst
They ghosted me after 3 rounds, the interviews were fair and simple, no technical questions. Told me to expect to hear back and didn't respond when I followed-up. Seemed like they had clear expectations for the role which was a good sign.
- Are you comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously?
Financial Analyst
It was a pretty chill interview. The first step was a chat with the hiring manager where we talked about my background and some behavioral stuff. It was a good time and I'd tell other people to go for it.
- Tell me about a time you failed and what you learned from it.
Financial Analyst
The interview process was great! It started with a recruiter screening, followed by a 30-minute call with a finance manager. If successful, candidates were invited to an all-day virtual on-site day. The on-site day included an introduction by the CFO, three 30-minute interviews with finance team managers, an HR presentation, a panel interview, and a final presentation by the VP of Finance. The experience was positive and provided good insights into Dolby. A potential observation is that there might be a preference for candidates from certain universities, as seen in the mix of attendees and those ultimately hired, though this is just a personal observation of corporate practices. Regardless, it's a great experience and worth applying for.
- What is your motivation for seeking employment at Dolby?
- What drives your interest in pursuing a career in finance?
- Could you share an instance where you experienced failure?
