First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DoiT.
Cloud Engineer
The interview was a 4-stage process, all done remotely via Google Meet. It started with a recruiter screening, followed by two technical interviews with Staff Cloud Architects. The final stage was a "fit and feel" interview with the Senior Staff Cloud Architect. They made sure to communicate expectations and topics for each stage beforehand. The questions covered technical troubleshooting and broader architecture topics, mostly tailored to my resume, except for the initial screening which was more general.
- Can you detail the entire process of resolving an A record to its corresponding IP address?
Cloud Engineer
It took about three weeks from the first contact to get an offer. The first step was a 30-minute call with the internal recruiter, which was very pleasant and made me eager to hear back about an interview. They were incredibly professional and responsive via all communication channels. Everyone was very passionate about DoiT from the start. The first interviewer explained DoiT's unique approach compared to other cloud consulting firms. This technical interview was conversational and lasted about 90 minutes, exceeding the scheduled hour because we both enjoyed the discussion. The technical questions were practical and designed to assess problem-solving skills rather than theoretical knowledge. The second interview, with two people, focused more on cultural fit but included some technical questions. This conversation also went over an hour. The third interview was with a director, highlighting DoiT's thoroughness in hiring to ensure mutual long-term satisfaction. Overall, it's a thorough but not overly stressful interview process that facilitates mutual understanding and informed decision-making.
- Can you describe a typical day in your life as a consultant?
- How do you manage shifting between different tasks or contexts during your workday?
- In the context of Linux, what is considered a fundamental element?
Cloud Engineer
My interview process at DoiT was pretty fast from beginning to offer! It had 3 stages. First, I chatted with a staff cloud architect about my experience and learned about DoiT. Then, I had a more technical discussion with 2 staff cloud architects about my specialty, since it was a specialist role. Finally, I interviewed with a senior staff cloud architect about my motivations for joining DoiT and where I could make an impact. I enjoyed the process and learned a lot about the company. I was happy to accept their offer and recommend it!
- For this specialist role, how would you optimize your specialty toolset to best meet client needs?
