It was a two-week process. First, I had to schedule a call with HR. Then, she sent me an Excel test to complete. Later, they called me for an in-person interview. The manager asked me to tell them about myself and then took me to her desk and asked me to work on Excel. The hiring manager wasn't exactly sure what to ask and asked me to work at her desk.

I was sourced by the recruiting manager on LinkedIn and scheduled a call for the next day. When the call happened, there was a bait and switch; the manager wasn't there, and another recruiter met with me instead. She seemed nice, but she treated the call like an interview, which I went along with. However, while I was answering her questions, she was clearly distracted, talking and laughing with someone else in the room while her mic was muted. From what I could understand, this company doesn't offer remote or hybrid work now or in the future, they didn't share the salary range (even though it's required in NY), and their communication and overall candidate experience were poor. I don't think I'll hear back, and it felt like a complete waste of time.

The interview process was really unorganized, confusing, rude, and generally sad. I honestly don't know how the managers or recruiters got their jobs there, it's very sad. I hope DO & CO knows what they're like and how they represent the company. I like the company and would have liked to work there, but if those are the kind of people working for them, then that's not for me, and I don't think I would succeed there.

  • Are you willing to work all the time with absolutely no exceptions, even if you are practically dead? If not, this job isn't for you.
