Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DJO.
Product Manager
Had a few phone interviews and then a long half-day onsite. Started with a phone screening, then a Skype call with the hiring manager. After that, I did a Webex presentation for two managers. The onsite interview involved meeting with 8 different people, and then there was a final onsite interview to close things out.
- How do I respond to adversity when process fails?
Product Manager
The hiring process moved quickly at first. I applied, got a call the next day, and was invited for an on-site interview on the third day. During the on-site, I met the team. The engineering managers seemed arrogant and asked questions poorly; one engineer asked about finding the right channels but phrased it as if asking about regulations. The office environment looked depressing with many cubicles. They mentioned they'd contact me within a few weeks. HR has been silent since the on-site, and it's been three months with no response.
- Has HR informed you about the salary for this position?
Product Manager
I had a 45 minute call with a Senior Hiring Manager, followed by a phone call with a would be supervisor in their Vista Office. After both calls, I received ZERO follow up instructions or communication of any kind. I have never experienced such a poorly run hiring process. I had some initial hesitation with DJO knowing the horrible reviews I have read online about their daily business practices and it was very disappointing to finally understand why they are a sub-par firm. I completely understand if I am not a fit for your firm, but to not email, call or send a letter announcing I did not make the next step in your hiring process is unprofessional and flat-out rude. I should be thanking you DJO Global, you saved me from coming on board to an obvious dumpster fire.
